JAMMU: Directorate of School Education Jammu organized Student Marathon in all districts of JammuDivision under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan in order to sensitize the general masses about the Harmful effects of drug addiction.
In District Jammu, it was flagged off by Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu from Teacher Bhawan. Students studying in classes 9th to 12th participated in it enthusiastically covering the total distance of 5 km.
The Marathon started with the pledge taking ceremony followed by slogans against drug addiction by students and teachers.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma emphasized on involving all stakeholders on a unified strategy to combat substance abuse and encourage healthy life style.
He further said that through Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan we propose to bring a major change in all 10 districts of Jammu Division as children are the brand ambassadors. He said that we shall stand victorious in making J&K Drug free.
It is pertinent to mention here that Directorate of School Education Jammu through its Counselling Cell organized various activities during this month long awareness campaign viz. debate, elocution, quiz, movie screening, role plays, skits, Nukkad Natak, panel discussions, etc.
Counselling Cell DSEJ planned the execution of Marathon in all districts of Jammu Division and with the active cooperation of respective Chief Education Officers made this mega event a great success.
The winners of this marathon were felicitated by Director School Education Jammu with medals and certificates.
