RAMBAN: Police on Friday recovered 500 Gms heroin worth Rs 50 lakh in the international market in Banihal belt of district Ramban with the arrest of one drug peddler.
According to a report, on a specific information generated by Banihal Police that a person is coming towards Khari for handing over some banned contraband, a special Naka was established near Mandakbas, Khari by police party led by SI Shakeel Ahmed Manhas, In-Charge Police Post Khari under the supervision of Inspr Tariq Hussain, SHO Police Station Banihal, Mohd Rafiq, SDPO Banihal and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
During checking, one person namely Mohd Shafi son of Ghulam Qadir Naik resident of Mandakbas, Khari was stopped for checking and during his frisking, 500 grams heroin has been recovered from his possession. A case under FIR No. 86/2015 section 8/21/22 NDPS A ct was registered at Police Station Banihal.
