UDHAMPUR: District Red Cross Society (DRCS) Udhampur has spent Rs 14, 54,390 for providing succor to the needy during 2013-14.
“An amount of Rs. 24,97, 102 was collected as Red Cross donation, while Rs. 14,54,390 was registered as expenditure during 2013-14” the meeting of District Red Cross Society chaired by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur , Yasha Mudgal was told on Saturday.
In the meeting threadbare discussions were held on remittances from license, permission, contract etc, besides donation other than education institutions and voluntary contribution from government employees towards Red Cross fund during 2013-14
The DDC said that revenue and resources are vital for the society to reach out to the needy people. She impressed upon the officers to put in their best efforts to raise and mobilise resources to enable the society to help the people in the district and carry forward the noble cause of serving humanity.
Yasha Mudgal emphasised upon the all the district officers to registered themselves as a life member of the society and be a part of society for serving humanitarian. She directed all the officers to contribute more and more in Red Cross Society for the noble cause of humanity and the victims of natural calamities and other ailments.
The DDC reviewed in detail the activities being carried out by the society in the district.
The Secretary District Red Cross Society, Dr. V.P Sharma gave the detail of activities being carried out in the district during the current fiscal.
Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, N.S Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner Labour, Secretary Red Cross Society Udhampur, V.P Sharma, Tehsildar Ramnagar and representatives of other department were present in the meeting.
