JAMMU: Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu released a book of poetry ‘Ekam’, authored by Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner Income Tax Jammu and Kashmir at a function held here on Monday.
These poems are on healing effects of nature and on Supreme oneness, informed Sangeeta while giving description of the book. “Nature in its bounty had healing effect on me, it enriched me and I found solace in my own company,” she said adding restless to find her natural rhythm she started to pen down her thoughts.
Sangeeta has passion for photography and she very artistically, has combined her poetry with breath-taking photographs of Kashmir.
“It was the beginning of my connection with myself; I started a walk within, found a road to reach my own being. While travelling inside I also found that travelling outside was also a part of knowing my own self. Photography engulfed me with such intense passion that I thought of making a book of poems with visuals of Dal Lake. The tranquil beauty of the place seeped inside me”, she said. Prof Rita Jitendra also spoke on the occasion. Later, a musical evening ‘Sparsh Ke Gulmohar’ was also organised in which Indu Bala, Apporva Jamwal and Varsha Jamwal presented song items. The music was given by Brij Mohan.
