JAMMU: Dr. P.K Rai, Senior Scientist (Soil Science), Advanced Centre for Horticulture Research (ACHR) of SKUAST-J has been conferred with Gold Medal Award 2016 for his outstanding contribution in the field of Natural Resource Conservation and Soil Health Management for Sustainable Agriculture in Jammu and Kashmir.
The award was conferred to Dr Rai by Uma Bharti, Cabinet Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in the presence of Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chattisgarh, Dr. Suraj Bhan, President, Soil Conservation Society of India, New Delhi and Dr. S.K Patil, Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU). The award was presented on the occasion of first Asian Conference on ‘Water and Land Management for Food and Livelihood Security’ (WLMFLS-2017) at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGAU), Raipur Chattisgarh, recently.
