JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir UT Kho-Kho Association on Saturday announced its State Body Election and Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking a significant milestone in the governance and development of Kho -Kho game within UT. In a Annual General Meeting held at Amar Singh Club Jammu today following a rigorous and transparent election process, a new body of leaders was elected to steer the association forward.
The newly appointed officials are bring with them a wealth of experience, expertise, and a shared commitment to advancing the sport of Kho Kho to greater heights.
The newly elected J&K UT Kho -Kho body comprised of Dr. Balinder Kour as President; Er. Nirmaljit Singh as Sr. Vice President; Manender Singh Bawa, Mohd. Maqbool Sofi, Krishan Singh as Vice- Presidents; Dinesh Gupta, Mohd. Ayoub Parray, Mohammed Shafi Qureshi and Tarmeet Kour as Joint Secretaries; Arminder Pal Singh as Hony General Secretary; and Pankaj Malhotra as Treasurer.
Executive members included Gurmeet Singh, Manjeet Singh, Dhiraj Sharma, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and Gulzar Ahmed Ahanger.
The association also extended its heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing team, led by Dr. Manmeet Singh, who has served with dedication and distinction for over 13 years and the association has witnessed remarkable growth and achievements, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and innovation.
During the AGM, stakeholders, including players, coaches, administrators, and supporters convened to deliberate on pertinent issues facing the Kho Kho community.
Engaging discussions were held, focusing on strategies to enhance grassroots participation, optimize, and foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the sport.
The Jammu and Kashmir UT Kho Kho association expressed its gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions towards shaping the future direction of Kho Kho in the UT.
With a renewed sense of purpose and unity , the association is poised to embark on an exciting journey of growth , innovation and excellence under the stewardship of the newly elected Dr. Baljinder Kour leadership.
Dr. Baljinder Kour thanked the association and assured that the newly elected leadership is committed to work tirelessly in collaboration with all stakeholders to realise the full potential of Kho Kho and elevate its prominence on the regional, national and international stages.
The association expressed its gratitude to Anshuja Tak for her role as the returning officer, and acknowledging the contributions of Satyaveer Malik, Subash Dogra Retd. DIG as observers from Kho Kho Federation of India, Vikas Gupta observer Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association for their roles in smoothly conducting the newly J&K UT kho kho body for a term of four years.
The association appreciated the Bhupinder Singh tirthi Founder JKKKA and National Coach for its dedication and selfless service for the promotion of kho kho as a founder at UT, national and international levels.
Its noteworthy that during his tenure, six international players and four international officials represented the JKUT in National and International level and two players also participated in Ultimate Kho-Kho League.
A token of love from the association in the presence of Bhupinder Singh, Founder Kho Kho Association and National Coach was presented to the returning officer, observers , outgoing Kho Kho team and newly elected State Kho Kho body.
