JAMMU: Delhi Pubic School (DPS) Jammu has also launched a massive cleanliness campaign in its all work centres under the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, the largest sanitation initiative taken up by the Government of India.
To create awareness among the students, a special assembly was held on Monday which was based on the theme ‘Importance and benefits of Cleanliness’ where students participated in various programmes including pledge to keep their school neat and clean and Nukkad Natak presentation on Gandhi ji’s teachings.
The main objective was to imbibe the qualities of an eco-friendly and pollution free environment in the areas of our habitations.
The students took part in this campaign by participating in various activities / competitions organised by the school for them throughout the month like painting, essay writing, Poster making and collage making on the topics – Save Environment, ‘Pollution’, Importance of Sanitation and Swachh Paryavaran.
Such campaigns in school inculcate the spirit of hygiene, cleanliness and aversion to unhygienic conditions in our children from initial years of schooling itself.
Headmistress up to Middle Wing, Meenu Gupta guided the students about the hallmarks of the Gandhian philosophy i.e cleanliness to bring in relevance not only at schools but all around our city and our country.
Addl. Director/Principal D. Joseph congratulated the students for participation in the campaign with great enthusiasm and also urged them to take part in cleanliness drive like a passion/ missionary Zeal.
President RCT, M.K Ajat Shatru Singh, Pro–Vice Chairperson of the School, Ritu Singh and Director DPS Jammu, S.S. Sodhi also congratulated all the participants for taking part in the campaign with great enthusiasm and also blessed them.
