JAMMU: Pre-Primary stage is not the stage for formal educational learning. This stage may be characterized by group activities, play-way techniques, number games, storytelling etc.
Keeping in view this need, a workshop for young kids was organised in Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu to equip them with the required tools of pedagogy and make the teaching learning process better and interesting in the classroom.
The workshop was conducted by DPS faculty, Anuradha Rance and Ritu Kapoor who attended a six months training programme at HRDC Dwarka, New Delhi.
The resource persons stressed that the specific objective of the workshop was to develop the children physically, mentally, emotionally, aesthetically and linguistically and also to empower them to organise meaningful educational games and activities.
Each session at the workshop was enriching where each speaker emphasised on the need for out of the box thinking and innovative teaching learning methodology.
Teachers were divided into groups and involved in various stage activities like puppet show, storytelling, rhymes, dramatization etc. The session on storytelling was very interesting.
