JAMMU: The skaters of Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu won seven medals including one gold, two silver and four bronze in the recently concluded CBSE North Zone-1 Roller Skating Championship, organised by the CBSE Sports Board at Chandigarh.
About 600 skaters drawn from various CBSE schools of North Zone competed in the different age categories in the championship.
The students who won the medals were Raghav Gupta X-E (gold), Drishti Gupta Vlll-J (silver), Somya Sharma X-l (bronze), Dhruv Gupta Vlll-G (two bronze) and Arush Kapoor Vlll-B (silver and bronze).
The medal winners were felicitated in the special assembly organised in the school campus. Principal of the School, Dr. D. Joseph lauded the efforts of the participants and their parents for their excellent achievements and wished them for their bright future. Headmistress of the School, Ruchi Chabra and Headmistress upto Middle School, Meenu Gupta were also present on the occasion.
They also congratulated the medal winners. Three skaters Raghav Gupta, Drishti Gupta and Arush Kapoor have also been qualified for the nationals, on the basis of their performance in the said championship.
