DPS Jammu shines in swimming, taekwondo

JAMMU: Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu students won four gold medals in Inter School Swimming Competition (Under-19) organised by the Department of Youth Service and Sports, Jammu, at MA Stadium on 22nd August.
Siddhant Sharma-XII B won two gold medals in 50mts Butterfly and 100 mts Free Style respectively, while Sananda Sharma-XII A won one gold medal each in 50 mts Breast Stroke and 50 mts Free Style. Sidhant Sharma and Sanada Sharma have been selected for the District Level, which is going to be held later.
On other hand, Shivankar Mahajan got first position in the First J and K Taekwondo Cup-2016, an Inter School Taekwondo Championship, organised by J and K Taekwondo Association at Brahman Sabha, Parade, from 19th to 21st August.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra congratulated and lauded the efforts of all the winners, their parents and the coaches Preeti Gupta, Meenu Raghesh and Suresh for the achievement.
Headmistress, Meenu Gupta was also present on the occasion. President RCT, Ajatshatru Singh, PVC Ritu Singh and Director S.S Sodhi also conveyed their best wishes to all the winners and their parents.
