JAMMU: Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu won champion trophy in Inter-School Literary Competition ‘Thespian-2016-17’ organised by KC International School, on 30th July 2016.
In the Inter School Drama Category, the students of DPS Jammu won second prize for ‘The Merchant of Venice’ performed by them. While the Best Actress award went to Vanshee Koul-XI E, who played ‘Portia’ and the Best Supporting Actor to Sidhant Pandita-XI B, who portrayed the Jew ‘Shylock’.
The other actors were Alamgir Khanna-XI H, Saiba Sheikh-X A, Soheila Sharma- XI I, Rameshwar Dalmotra-X A and Ashutosh Kumar – XI F.
In the Inter School Declamation Category, Mahavir Singh-XI B won the first prize for representing Carl Sagan, the Astrophysicist, on the topic ‘A Pale Blue Dot’.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra, congratulated all the winners, their parents for the outstanding achievement.
President RCT, Ajatshatru Singh, PVC Ritu Singh and Director S.S Sodhi also lauded the participants and conveyed their best wishes for all future endeavours. The team was guided by English Teachers Manpreet Kour and Poonam Chattoo.
