STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit has expressed apprehension of playing with people’s mandate under the guise of nominated MLAs.
In a press conference held on Sunday at the party’s state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that BJP is trying to play with the people’s mandate. He said that misusing the provision of nomination to change the majority or minority situation can prove to be harmful.
Sahni said that according to almost all exit polls, BJP is far from majority, in such a situation BJP is eyeing the five MLAs nominated by the Lieutenant Governor.
Sahni has demanded from the central government and the Lieutenant Governor to give equal rights to both the regions of Jammu and Kashmir. Sahni said that in the guise of benefiting the BJP, the gap between the two regions should be avoided from deepening. With this new arrangement, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will have 95 members including five nominated members, making the majority figure to form a government at 48.
