‘Don’t try to communalise every crime’

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: There is a growing tendency among the opposition parties to communalise every incident of crime for the sake of vote bank politics which is not only unethical but also is creating fissures among the society and attacking the very basis of our core value of secularism, claimed Brig Anil Gupta, State Bharatiya Janata Party Spokesperson here on Wednesday.
Clarifying further, he said, “Rape is an inhumane, heinous and barbaric crime and deserves no sympathy in a civilised society. Rape is rape whether committed in Kathua, Nagrota or Kulgam? Humanity demands that the victims must get justice and the perpetrators of the heinous crime served with maximum possible punishment. By selectively highlighting a particular incident, attempt is being made to give it a communal touch with a view to polarise and divide the homogeneous society of Jammu region.”
“Why are these people silent on Nagrota and Kulgam, where equally heinous crime has been committed? Do those victims not deserve justice? Why those involved in Kulgam incident are roaming freely and some of them also happen to be in government service? The answer is short and simple. It does not suit their narrative of communalising the situation and polarising the society. The opposition has mastered the art of selective exploitation of news of terrible crimes to manipulate the emotions of gullible people to push their own agenda,” said further Brig Gupta adding, “BJP appeals to the people to not to fall in their trap. They want to keep us fighting and divided.”
Why Rahul Gandhi has not taken any action against GA Mir and other leaders of Congress who were hobnobbing with Hindu EktaManch or Bar Association? With what face is the Congress demanding the sacking of our newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister? The Congress needs to set its own house in order before sermonising others advised Brig Gupta. A failed turn coat politician like Saifud Din Soz has no business to castigate BJP for not having people with any political acumen and vision. It is any day better to be a RSS loyalist than be an anti-national, Brig Gupta reminded Soz.
