UDHAMPUR: Wrestler Kapil of Uttar Pradesh (UP) defeated Parveen Bhalla of Chand Roop Akhara Delhi in the 111th Annual Dangal held at Government Middle School Sunal in Block Khoon, Tehsil Majalta. Bout was played for 24 minutes.
Winner Wrestler Kapil was awarded with cash prize of Rs 31,000 by Chief Guest, MLA Ramnagar, R.S Pathania, President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Sharma while runner-up wrestler Parveen was awarded with cash prize of Rs 20,000 by ACR Subash Chand Dogra, SHO Ashiq Bukhari and President of Dangal Committee Krishan Kumar. In all, 39 bouts were played in the one day long wrestling event.
Dangal was organised by Thial-Chougan Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Shiv Kumar Sharma, President Thial-Chougan Dangal Committee Krishan Kumar and Vice-President of the Dangal Committee, Kewal Kumar Sharma (Sonu).
Prominent persons present on the occasion included Naib Tehsildar Shanker Chand, B.D.O Sandeep Seointra, SHO Ashiq Bukhari, Naib Tehsildar Yash Paul Singh, Naib Tehsildar Rumal Singh, Arjuna Awardee Ashok Kumar Garg of Delhi, Advocate Amit Sharma, Sarpanches Karnail Singh, Balwant Rai, Rajesh Sharma (Raju), Chain Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Varinder Badyal and Om Parkash Verma.
The second main bout was won by Ishaq (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu who defeated Amit of Captain Chand Roop Akhara Delhi. Third bout was won by Amir Khan of Nargada who trounced Paula of Himachal Pradesh and fourth bout was won by Talab of Mallerkotla who defeated Bittu of Delhi.
Members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this wrestling one day event included Krishan Kumar (President), Kewal Kumar Sharma (Sonu), Vice-President, Ravinder Gupta (Cashier), Kartar Chand (Seretary), Om Parkash Verma, Hazi Mohd. Din, Madan Lal, Madan Gopal Bhagat, Trilok Kumar Bhagat, Master Narinder Kumar Bhagat and Murli Dhar (Munna).
In the end, President of Thial-Chougan Dangal Committee Krishan Kumar presented vote of thanks.
