VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and JKPCC General Secretary Manjit Singh on Tuesday warned of dire consequences if AIIMS which was proposed to be established in Vijaypur is relocated to other place.
“I want to warn government; if any step is taken to relocate the AIIMS site and Vijaypur is ignored there will be reaction from the people,” said Manjit Singh, while speaking before the monthly meeting of party workers in the constituency.
Singh said that there seems to be a conspiracy being hatched by some Kashmir based political party with the ruling parties so that AIIMS is shifted from Vijaypur.
“Vijaypur residents will not tolerate any such a move. We have faced discrimination especially when BJP which always claims to be champion of Jammu’s rights and raised voice against alleged discriminations,” he added.
He said that “A heavy weight National Conference leader has recently met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and objected to the establishment of AIIMS in Vijaypur.”
He further said that government should not play with the emotions of the people. “People cannot be befooled anymore. I want to ask BJP which is ruling in Jammu and Kashmir with PDP, what is their stand. They should come out with statement in public,” he added.
Referring to the recent statement of Chief Minister, he said, BJP should also clear its stand on Art 370 and on 35A on which their alliance partner have raised objection that it should not be amended or revoked from Jammu and Kashmir, while openly challenging relation of J and K with Centre.
He said that BJP has sold itself for the sake of power and now they have compromised on every just demand of Jammuites. Those who were present in meeting included Baabla Gupta, Bharat Bushan, Babu Ram Bhagat , Inder pal Singh , Master Thoru Ram , Trith Bhagat, Sham Lal Sharma , Hans Raj, Sham Lal Bhagat, Natha Ram , Sujjan Singh Singh , Capt.
