JAMMU: Surprising, but it is true that the Department of Information (DoI), especially the wing associated with the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, needs to update its information with regard to those individuals associated with sports administration.
The ill informed Department of Information quoted the Chief Minister and president of the State Sports Council calling the Moulana Azad (MA) Stadium at Jammu as Moulana Azad Memorial (MAM) Stadium in latter’s statement in regard to inauguration of synthetic football turf at Srinagar yesterday.
Furthermore, misguiding the general masses, especially those associated directly and indirectly with the sports, the DOI designated the incharge secretary of the State Sports Council, Dalip Thusso, who is an engineer by profession and holds the rank of a Chief Engineer, as Director Youth, Services and Sports.
Recognising wrongly the heads that too with the statements of Chief Minister leads to spread of wrong information among the public at large. The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) is a separate identity presently headed by the Director General of J and K Police, Navin Agarwal as Director General Youth Services and Sports. Whereas Dalip Thusso is in charge secretary of the autonomous sports body of J and K State Sports Council.
