JAMMU: A Dogri version of collection of satires penned by prominent Punjabi writer Dr Monojit entitled ‘Je Tus Bura Nei Mangay Te’ translated into Dogri by budding writer Ritu Kumar Sharma was released at a function organised by Dogri Sanstha here at Dogri Bhawan. A galaxy of intellectuals and writers of Punjabi, Dogri Urdu and Kashmiri languages were present on this occasion. The function was presided over by Dr Lalit Magotra, noted writer, intellectual and convener, Sahitya Akademi’s Advi-sory Board for Dogri, while Devinder Singh Vishwanagrik, President, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu joined the presidium as Chief Guest. A brief critical review on the book was presented by Brahm Dutt, recipient of this year Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puruskar. He discussed the contents and style of satires of the book. Dr Monojit presented a satire based on the profile of marital relationship in 25th century . Earlier in his welcome address, Chhatrapal, President of Dogri Sanstha congratulated both the original writer and translator for bringing this publication to facilitate the Dogri readers to enjoy quality Punjabi literature in their mother tongue.
A Dogri-Punjabi Kavi Sammelan was also held on this occasion in which Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, Amarjeet Neer, Rahi Simbalpuria, Devinder Singh Vishwanagrik (all Punjabi), Susheel Begana, Rattan Bhardwaj, Ashok Kumar Khajuria, Abdul Qadir Kundria, Maharaj Krishan, Vijya Thakur, Brij Mohan, Sham Talib, Arsh Om Dalmotra and Prof Lalit Magotra participated. The literary function was conducted by General Secretary Dogri Sanstha, Dr Nirmal Vinod while Vice President Narinder Bhasin presented vote of thanks. Those who were present include Chaman Arora, Prof Baldev Singh, Shiv Mehta, Parveen Rahi, Pradhuman Singh Udhampuria, Sunil Kumar of Dogri Deptt, Shiv Kumar Khajuria, Sunil Magotra, Pummy Sharma, M.M Singh, Rajeshwar Singh Raju, Ajay Sharma, Pawan Kumar and Hardeep Singh Deep.
