Dogra Group of Colleges announces scholarships worth Rs 35 lakh

JAMMU: “Whether you have topped your school or just managed to scrape through your class XII Board Exam. It is not the end, make a fresh beginning with us in the College, where we offer the state of the art infrastructure and faculty par excellence,” exhorted the Chairman of Dogra Group of Colleges, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, the Former Minister, Higher Education while speaking to the fresher’s, in a formal welcome function organized in Dogra Degree College.
Charak emphasized “We are celebrating 50th year of our endeavour in the field of education, as we started in 1965 with Dogra Academy and added a College of Education in 1994, Law College in the year 2000, and a Degree College in 2008.” This being a Golden Jubilee year, the Chairman announced the scholarships to the tune of Rs 35 lakh to promote quality in education in the field of teacher education, law and in undergraduate levels also in management, art and commerce. He was highly appreciative of the Department of Higher Education and the University of Jammu, who gave the opportunity to run B.A and B.Com courses from the session 2016-17.
Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of Dogra Education Trust assured the students that their future is in safe hands and appealed to them to put in their best to realise their dreams.
S.C Khajuria, Director Administration, gave a brief profile of the colleges functioning.
Poonam Gupta, Principal of the College gave a vote of thanks.
