STATE TIMES NEWS
R S PURA: The activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena led by its President, Ashok Gupta took out a procession here against the non-availability of ration for the last five months which has led to the situation of hue and cry among the people of the area.
Gupta stated that the distribution of ration in the Valley is done by the salesmen who are the permanent employees of the State Government but in Jammu the dealers are given the task due to which the ration doesn’t get distributed.
Gupta said that Jammu and Kashmir is a part of one State then why there is variation in the distribution system.
“The dealers are on strike in the main city area of Jammu so to curb the shortfall the State Government has transferred some of its ration dealers from the areas of RS Pura and Chattraiya to cope up with the supply which has led to the shutting of ration shops in the area of RS Pura,” he said.
Gupta said that the Department of Food and Civil Supplies has been taking such decisions which instead of providing any relief to the poor population has been creating more problems for the already suffering people.
Gupta warned the people who are involved in the act of black marketing that if this unlawfull process is not stopped then Dogra Front and Shiv Sena will take the matter in their own hands and the end result will be on the shoulders of the department and the culprits.
Among those who joined the protest include Kimti, Roop Lal, Fauji Daya Ram, Prem, Nirmal, Surjeet, Darshan and Abhishek.
