JAMMU: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (AG) led by its President, Ashok Gupta staged a protest against the government which has failed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people of Jammu.
He said that every year the people of Jammu are made to suffer during summers on account of power cuts and non-supply of drinking water.
“In these days, when the temperature is 44 to 45 degrees, only electricity and drinking water can provide some relief from scorching heat but unfortunately both these commodities have gone out of the reach of a common citizen. It is the duty of elected government to ensure that people are not made to suffer but in Jammu and Kashmir the government has least concern for the people and its Ministers are enjoying their summers in Kashmir and do not have any feeling for the helpless people of Jammu,” he added.
He asserted that long curtailment of power has made the life of people miserable adding that the students are the worst sufferers. He said that the students cannot concentrate on their studies due to curtailments in the late evening hours. Among those who joined the protest include Birbal, Sonu, Roop Lal, Parkash, Nikku, Manohar, Geeta, Sushil, Bantu and Abhishek were also present.
