Doctors forced to work in candle light

R S PURA: In the absence of power supply through PDD and non-availability of generator in the Sub District Hospital, RS Pura, the doctors are forced to attend to the patients in candle light during night. The available generator is off road for the last so many months and the hospital authorities had not considered it necessary to get it repaired on priority.
Meanwhile the special electric line sanctioned for the hospital had not been energised for number of months awaiting inauguration at the cost of patients’ life. The BMO said that a sum of Rs 42 lakh has already been paid to the PDD two months back but the hospital continues to suffer for power.
The STATE TIMES when spoke to number of patients they said that in emergency cases also X ray, ultra sound and other tests of the patients get abnormally delayed which is detrimental to the life of patients.
Patients and their attendants have appealed to the hospital authorities at appropriate level to take immediate action to ensure regular power for the hospital.
