DMs asked to check illegal sale of acid

SRINAGAR: The District Magistrates have been asked to suitably exercise the powers vested in them under the Criminal Procedure Code and other relevant laws to monitor, regulate and to curb the menace of sale of acid to unscrupulous elements so that unfortunate incidents like the recent acid attack can be prevented.
According to the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, the District Magistrates have been asked to evolve a suitable mechanism to keep a close watch on the sale and use of acid within their respective jurisdictions and also issue similar instructions to the subordinate magisterial/police agency to avoid its misuse by unscrupulous elements.
