POONCH: Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), the inter-district Divisional level Volleyball and Hockey events in under-17 boys category started on Tuesday at different venues, here.
The competition declared open by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Poonch, Mohd Qasim at Sports Stadium, here in the presence of guest of honour, Principal BHSS Poonch, Rupinder Kour.
In total, ten districts reported in Volleyball while in hockey four teams are taking part in this event.
Earlier, the opening day witnessed preliminary rounds of the competition. The Results: Volleyball: district Ramban defeated district Samba 3-1. Hockey: District Jammu defeated district Kathua 5-3; Poonch beat district Rajouri 6-0.
