Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Rohit Kansal, reviews R-Day arrangements

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Rohit Kansal, convened a meeting here on Tuesday to review arrangements for Republic Day celebration being put in place in Srinagar district.
It was decided that contingents of CRPF, J and K Armed Police, BSF, District Police, Srinagar, IRP, ITBP, Forest Protection Force, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and students from various educational institutions would participate in the march past. Besides, the participating students would be accommodated at Youth Hostel and Circuit House, Srinagar.
The authorities of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Mechanical Engineering Division were asked to ensure snow clearance in case of snowfall from Bakshi Stadium, adjoining areas and other roads leading to the venue.
Div Com asked the concerned authorities to ensure proper seating arrangements and installation of tents in Bakshi Stadium while Superintendent of Police Traffic was asked to make proper arrangements for parking in the Stadium. He directed the health authorities to keep ambulance and other medicare facilities available near the Republic Day celebration venue.
The Fire and Emergency Services and Srinagar Municipal Corporation officers were asked to keep machinery ready for drainage of water from Bakshi Stadium, while PHE officers were asked to arrange water tankers.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director School Education Kashmir, Chief Engineers of Mechanical Engineering Division Kashmir and PHE Srinagar, DIG Traffic Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, S.P Traffic Srinagar, Joint Director Information Kashmir and officers of Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol, Floriculture, State Road Transport Corporation, Cultural Academy, Radio Kashmir, CRPF, BSF and Army.
