JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu on Tuesday convened a meeting to review the arrangements for celebrations of 546th Birth Anniversary (Parkash Utsav) of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji being celebrated on 6th November.
The meeting was attended by DIG Jammu Shakeel Beig, ADC Jammu K. S. Parihar, CE PHE Sushil Aima, GM DIC Kathua Amarjeet Singh, SSP Traffic Mohan Lal, SE PDD Sunil Kumar, SE PWD S.P Manhas, Joint Director CAPD Dr. Manmohan Singh, Joint Director Fire Services R.T Dubey, Dy Director Health Dr. Ajay K. Gupta, other senior officers besides President DGPC Dalip Singh, Secy DGPC Manjit Singh, Treasury Officer Dr. Meraj Din, Cashier DGPC Attar Singh.
The meeting was informed that the main function would be held at Gurdwara Shri Nanak Dev Ji near Gummat Bazaar where thousands of devotees would perform prayers and attend Akhand Path followed by Shabad Kirtan and langer. Ragi gatha of Bhai Harjeet of Darbar Sahib Amritsar, Chanak Singh Ragi gatha of Sri Keshgarh Anandpur Sahib and Giani Kewal Singh Ex Head Jathedar of Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib besides other local preachers and Ragis will address the audience.
Divisional Commissioner asked the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the venue, Dogra Chowk to Vivekanand Chowk and clear bushes on the road side besides arrange sufficient number of dustbins and water tankers. He asked the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure uninterrupted water supply with additional water tanker at the venue along with installation of temporary water taps. Power Development Department was asked to provide uninterrupted power supply throughout the day. Fire Services would ensure availability of fire tenders at the venue and other vital points to meet any eventuality R& B department has been asked to make arrangements for barricading well in time
Divisional Commissioner asked the Police authorities to provide adequate security arrangement with deployment of security personal and sensitisation of Gurudwara premises.
Traffic department was asked to ensure requisite arrangements for smooth and hassle free traffic movement and identify parking slots for parking of vehicles. Health department was directed to provide fully equipped ambulance with first aid stationed at the venue.
