JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu on Friday launched a scheme Aapka School Aapke Gaon under BAPD for affected border villages within 0-5 km of the International Border/ALC to facilitate the students whose studies have been affected due to border firing.
Being introduced by the district administration, the programme envisages identification of suitable place in each village for accommodating students besides ensuring arrangement of proper lighting and seating arrangements preferably in available school buildings/community halls and Panchayat Ghars to provide additional classes to cope up with academic losses.
DDC Jammu A.K Sahu informed that a special recruitment rally is being organised by Army at Sainik School Ground and NCC Camp Area Nagrota, Jammu in which the candidates of Jammu district shall be participating on 31st and 1st of November, 2014. With objective of facilitating candidates of border belt of Jammu district, the administration will make special arrangements of transportation for them. Besides, documentation support, guidance and counseling, publicity/advertisement and class room training for qualified candidates in physical test will also be taken up, he added.
The district administration is also organizing skill development/capacity building programme under Border Area Development programme through Polytechnics.
