JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar along with Additional Director General of Police Jammu zone on Sunday visited Mandi and reviewed the arrangements for Shri Budha Amarnath ji Yatra 2022, at a meeting of officers of District administration Poonch and representatives of religious organisations.
The meeting was among others attended by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, DIG Rajouri Poonch Range, SSP Poonch, Senior officers of Army, BSF, Intelligence, prominent members of civil society, members of Mandir committee and District officers of line departments.
The members of Civil Society raised issues related to development of the area as well as those concerning smooth conduct of Yatra. The members of civil society assured the visiting officers to extend full cooperation for the grand success of the yatra.
The representatives of Mandir management committee, co-ordination committee, civil society members, Beopar mandal and other stakeholders gave some vital suggestions for smooth and successful conduct of the Yatra. The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, while speaking on the occasion, assured the stakeholders that all necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of Yatra shall be put in place well in advance including transportation, Boarding and lodging and other facilities En-route Yatra.
He also assured that the developmental issue raised in the meeting shall be taken care of. He directed officers of line departments to make necessary arrangements well in advance to make hassle free Yatra this year.
The ADGP Jammu Zone, while addressing the meeting, thanked the stakeholders for the cooperation they extended in maintaining law and order in the district in the wake of a few incidents that happened a few days back. He assured the members of civil society that foolproof security arrangements will be put in place. He said district police in coordination with security agencies were performing their duty with utmost sincerity in the sensitive border district.
Earlier, he held a detailed security review with different security agencies and officers of district police.
