REASI: The district-level inter-school cricket tournament under-17 Boy’s gets underway today at Mini Sports Stadium, Reasi.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr K.C Dogra inaugurated the tournament in a function. District Information Officer-Parvinder Kour, District Youth and Sports Officer-Dr S.S Chib, ZEPO-Om Prakash and ZEPO-Manohar Lal were also present.
Dr Dogra said, Inter-School tournaments are a fantastic platform for these budding players. He added this is where the competition starts; one understands the meaning of team and also starts valuing friendships.
Earlier Dr Chib informed that in this six days tournament 16 teams from different schools will participate.
In the inaugural cricket match between Government High School Sirla Bagha and Government High School Aghar Jitto, Govt. HS Aghar Jitto defeated Govt. HS Sirla Bagha by 19 runs. Karnail Singh of GHS Aghar Jitto was declared as the Man of the Match.
In the second match, Govt HSS Panthal defeated Govt HSS Pouni by 24 runs.
The matches were officiated by Ajay Kumar, Upender Singh, Abhinash Kumar, Kuldeep Raj and Tour Kumar Sharma.
