JAMMU: Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Kho-Kho Association, the Jammu District Kho-Kho Championship got underway at Green Fields Ground, here on Saturday. The event is beaing supported by the J and K State Sports Council.
In all, six teams in men and four in women are taking part in this competition on league-cum-knock out basis.
Earlier, the event was declared open by President of the Association, Manmeet Singh, who interacted with the players and wished them success.
The finals and valedictory function of this two-day competition shall take place tomorrow at 4:30 PM.
Among others present in the opening match include B.S Tirthi, Harjeet Singh, Anil Kumar, Romy Tadyal, Vikram Singh, Parbhat Singh, Pankaj Malhotra and Amrinder Singh.
The Results: SAI Club beat HSS Gharota 12-07; Mahadev Club defeated NIS Club Akhnoor 19-08; HSS Gharota blanked KV Miran Sahib 11-05; SAI Club downed Miran Sahib 14-10; NIS Club trounced Khalsa Club 11-08.
