District Kathua Volleyball Championship begins

KATHUA: The District Kathua Volleyball Championship, being organized by District Kathua Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, commenced today with great energy and excitement.

SDM Hiranagar graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest, while the Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Hiranagar and BDO Dingha Amb attended as Guests of Honour. Their presence boosted the morale of the participating teams and organizers.
The tournament opened with a thrilling match between Bhatyari Volleyball Club and Chhaper Club, where Bhatyari Club emerged victorious with scores of 25-22 and 25-20. The second match featured Jandi Club against Mangloor Club, with Jandi Club securing a confident win by 25-15 and 25-20. The final match of the day was played between Mela Volleyball Club and Baba Dehra, in which Mela Club triumphed with 25-18 and 25-20.
The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including Sarpanch Subash Sharma, Kamal Sharma (President, Volleyball Association Kathua), Mohinder Sharma (General Secretary, Kathua Volleyball Association), Ram Lal (Joint Secretary), Keshav Sharma (Treasurer), Rajesh Goswami (Vice President), Asha Nand Khajuria, Uttam Singh, Rash Paul Singh, and Sanju, who applauded the efforts of the organizers and players.
A total of 22 teams are participating in the championship, making it one of the largest volleyball events in the district. The tournament promises more exciting matches in the coming days as teams battle for top honours.
