JAMMU: District Jammu remained overall champion with maximum number of medals whereas district Samba and Udhampur remained second and third runner up respectively in the 11th J&K State Wushu Championship, organized by Wushu Association of J&K at MA Stadium, here , which concluded on Thursday.
In the closing ceremony, JKCA Media Committee Chairman and BCCI member, Ranjeet Kalra was the Chief Guest while General Secretary J and K Olympic Association, Dr Aushtosh Sharma and Deepak Handa were the Guests of Honour who gave away medals to winners and runners up.
Speaking on the occasion, Ranjeet Kalra lauded the efforts of Wushu Association of J and K for promoting this combat sports to every nook and corner of the State and bring the laurels for the State at national and international level.
Dr Aushtosh Sharma congratulated the winners of the event and Wushu Association of J and K for excellent results in the
35th National Games at Kerala in which team bagged four medals.
General Secretary of the Association, Kuldeep Handoo presented the vote of thanks.
The Chairman, S Owais and President of the Association, H K Lohia congratulated the organising committee and the district units for their participation in the championship and making the event a grand success.
Others present were Principal GD Goenka, Dr R P Singh, Ajay Paul Gill, Ravinder Singh, Abhishek Jain, Sharat Chander and principals of the schools.
