POONCH : In the wake of prevailing tension between India and Pakistan, the Superintendent District Hospital Poonch, Dr Mumtaz Bhati has made lot of improvements in the hospital and prepared it to meet any emergency. He said that Poonch being a district on the extreme border of the State with dense po9pulation, is being given special attention.
The superintendent has first of all cancelled the leave of all the doctors, para-medicos and other staff and held a meeting in which he issued extensive instructions. He said that the prevailing situation is an alarm for the coming events when we have to shake our conscious to prove dedication and diligence to the duty, whole hearted sincerity to the profession and rendering selfless services to the patients.
The emergency wards have been kept vacant, experienced surgical specialist like Dr Balbir Siingh, experienced Gynecologist Priyanka Bhagat are available for their services, blood bank is maintained, the defective ultrasound machine has been made properly functional besides digital X Ray, technicians duly deputed, six ambulance vehicles with drivers , hygiene sanitation and overall cleanliness were given an extra importance. The OPD where long queues of the patients were seen earlier, has now been well managed and sufficient staff deputed. A Sick New Little Intensive Care Unit has been created in the hospital and free medicines for the mother and baby will be provided to the patients from the hospital. The Supdt said that there would be minimum evacuation of patients to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
