GANDERBAL: District Volleyball Association Ganderbal organised District Volleyball Championship on Monday under the banner of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
A total of eight teams from all over the district took part in this championship which was inaugurated by the chief guest, Kuldeep Magotra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in presence of Guest of Honour, Mohd Tariq, Joint Secretary VAJK.
Magotra appreciated the efforts of Volleyball Association of Ganderbal towards the promotion of youth of the remote areas and asked the youth to avoid the bad habits and join the sports.
Today’s results: Pathan Warrior beat Ganderbal Warrior by 2-1 (28-26, 21-25, 15-9); Eagle Club Fathepura beat Spartan Ganderbal by 2-0 (26-24, 26-24); Spyker Club beat Pathan Squad by 2-0 (26-24, 25-21); Safapura Volleyball Club beat Warrior Club 2-0 sets.
Tomorrow semifinal matches will be played between Pathan Warrior vs Eagle Club Fathepura and Spyker Club vs Safapura Volleyball Club.
Those present on the occasion were Khawar Ahmed, Ajaz Ahmed, Mohd Kamran, Waheed Ahmed and Sidarat Hussain.
