DIS Jammu organises Sahodaya Poem Recitation Contest for teachers

JAMMU: Doon International School (DIS), Jammu organized an Inter-School Poem Recitation Competition for teachers ‘Poetry With Panache’ under the aegis of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex.
It was the exuberant recitation of “Classical English Poetry” in which 24 CBSE Schools of high repute participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Rajesh Rathore, President JSSC and Principal JKPS Jammu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Pramod K. Srivastava Principal, Model Academy and Randeep Wazir, Joint Secretary JSSC and Principal IDPS Jammu were the Special Guests.
The competition was judged by the members of the Jury including Dr. Rashid Ali, Professor Central University and Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Assistant Professor Government College of Education Jammu .
It was a free flowing recitation format which initiated the celebration of ideas, amalgamation of emotions and innovation encapsulated with creative skills, flamboyance, dramatic depiction and self – expression at its best. All the participants enhanced the glory of the entire ambience with the exuberance of their performances and gripped the audience with their magnetic aura leaving them spellbound.
Anandita Sharma of IDPS Jammu bagged the 1st prize, followed by Monika Dhar of APS Kaluchak and Nitika of MLZS Kathua clinching 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The three consolation prizes were shared by Arti Tickoo of JKPS Kunjwani, Mona Andotra of IPS Kathua and Neeru Bhardwaj of Model Academy.
Dr. Vikesh Kaur, Principal DIS Jammu wished all affirmative luck and great accomplishment to all the participants and deliberated about the event “Poetry with Panache” expecting all participants to be confident and expressive to their fullest.
Rajesh Rathore, Principal JKPS Kunjwani expressed his immense delight over the meticulous conduct of the event by the host school and brilliant performances from the participating teachers.
He shared some fine tips with the teachers to polish their skills to a sparkle.
Dr. Pramod K. Srivastava congratulated the participants and applauded the degree of elan, poise & confidence exhibited by the teachers, representing Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex.
