Dis-enchantment among Jammu youth all time high during BJP-PDP rule: Harsh

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Coming down heavily on the State Government for perpetuating discrimination against the educated youth of Jammu while divesting them of their due share in employment besides adapting the policy of ‘use and throw’ against them, scores of aggrieved educated youth led by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP along with several Panther activists staged a protest at Exhibition Ground, here on Friday.
The agitated protestors including the ignored PSC aspirants raised ant-government slogans against the sinister BJP-PDP alliance seeking equitable treatment with them.
Dubbing the State government’s announcement of ex-gratia and jobs to next of kin of slain militants and stone -pelters as highly obnoxious and insane, Harsh lampooned BJP’s claims of “Achchey Din” as mirage for the educated youth. He said that the ruffians, vandals, hooligans and illiterates were glorified in Kashmir while the nationalists and patriots were discriminated, exploited, suppressed and quelled. He regretted that the people who had ransacked the valley followed the doctrine of secessionists, endorsed Burhan Wani’s ideology, attacked army camps, pelted stones on the security forces, snatched weapons from the defense personnel, torched schools and public property, unfurled Pak/ ISIS flags, shouted anti -India slogans and incited sedition were extended olive branch by the unholy alliance. And contrarily, the State government continued to dole out bouquet of ‘deprivation and biases’ to the educated youth of Jammu, Harsh lamented.
Dismayed over the deprivation of Jammu youth in selections to govt. services, Singh made a shocking reference of the recently published select list of Assistant Professors in the discipline of Education issued this week in which mere 10 posts went to Jammu region out of 58 and the rest were ladled out to Kashmir.
Likewise, seven out of 10 posts in the discipline of Business Studies also released during current week were gifted to the candidates of the valley, he divulged.
He regretted that earlier select lists also figured that out of 58 candidates in Commerce, 13 belonged to Jammu region, nine candidates out of 34 in History, seven candidates out of 26 in Physics, nine in Psychology out of 27 and likewise in other subjects. He further unveiled the highly biased selections in Economics and Statistics Directorate, wherein out of 26 candidates selected for Junior Statistical Assistants only 1 belonged to Jammu region. And in Health and Medical Education department, out of 123 selections of consultants in Radiology, Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Pathology and Paediatrics only 23 belonged to Jammu region, Harsh divulged.
Maintaining further, Singh also referred to the recent select list of constable operators published a couple of days ago in which out of 642 candidates selected in the General category from the entire State, only 103 candidates were selected from Jammu region and the rest 539 from Kashmir which was highly shocking and prejudicial in nature.
Expressing solidarity with the plus two contractual lecturers sitting on chain hunger strike, Singh said that the teaching fraternity had been rendering their services with zeal and honesty in schools and colleges on paltry salaries with a hope that they would be regularized to earn with dignity and honour. He sought a policy of regularization for all such highly qualified lecturers who had always been the assets to the otherwise sick educational system in the State.
Harsh cautioned the State
government and the BJP leaders in particular that regional bias in selections and harassment of the underemployed shall be fought vigorously by the Panthers party along with the aggrieved young fraternity until their rights and due share were restored to them.
