Diabetes detection camp held at Canal Road

JAMMU: On World Diabetes Day, Indian Red Cross Society,

Region Jammu organised a free diabetes awareness camp at

Canal Road here on Thursday.

The camp was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner and

Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region, Shantmanu

and lauded the efforts of Red Cross in organising such medical

camps. He also threw light on the subject of diabetes and how to

eradicate it.

Free blood sugar detection tests of morning walkers were

conducted on the spot by a team of Red Cross Laboratory

Technicians under the supervision of Dr Vikas Chandel and Dr.

Rohini Bhan, Medical Officer Red Cross Dispensary.

The public particularly morning walkers were educated about the

diabetes and its preventive measures.

The camp was organised under the supervision of its

Honourary Secretary, R.C Puri.

Navneet Kour, Executive Member of Indian Red Cross

Society, Region Jammu, Sadiq Nargal, President, Morning

Walkers Association, Canal Road, Jammu and Gurpreet Singh

from Cipla Pharmaceutical Limited Jammu were present.
