Dharmarth Trust takes out Grand Rath Yatra ahead of Ram Navmi

JAMMU: A grand Shobha Yatra was taken out today by J&K Dharmarth Trust on the eve of the Ram Navmi Festival from the historic Shri Raghunathji Temple in Jammu.

On the occasion, Trustees of Dharmarth Trust-Ajatshatru Singh, former Minister, and Ranvijay Singh-along with the Trust’s President, Dr. P.S. Pathania, and Secretary, Ashok Kumar Sharma (IPS Retd), presided over the Murti Poojan ceremony at Shri Raghunathji Temple. This was followed by Rath Poojan and Dhwajarohan ceremonies, invoking divine blessings for the prosperity and well-being of all. Thousands of devotees, including prominent citizens, politicians, and heads of various social and religious organizations, participated in the grand Shobha Yatra, which was conducted in collaboration with Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha and Dharmik Yuvak Mandal. The Rath Yatra commenced from Shri Raghunathji Temple and passed through the main city markets including Residency Road, Rajinder Bazaar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Chowk Chabutra, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Gita Bhawan, Ranbireshwar Temple, City Chowk, Raghunath Bazaar and finally culminated back at Shri Raghunathji Temple.
Speaking to media persons, Ajatshatru Singh greeted people on the auspicious occasion and said, “Such religious events not only preserve our age-old heritage but also inspire the younger generation to stay connected with their roots. The Dharmarth Trust remains committed to promoting cultural and spiritual values across the Union Territory.”
Ranvijay Singh, in his message, extended heartfelt greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. He prayed that the festival brings peace, prosperity, and happiness to every household in Jammu and Kashmir.
He added, “Celebrations like Ram Navami strengthen the spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood while reinforcing our shared cultural ethos.”
Tight security arrangements were made by the UT administration to ensure the peaceful and smooth conduct of the Ram Navmi celebrations. Senior police officials were present throughout the route of the Shobha Yatra, ensuring robust and incident-free arrangements.
