Dharmarth Trust employees warn to launch ‘Chain Hunger Strike’ from Dec 28

JAMMU: Carrying forward their protest, which entered 24th day on Friday, a number of employees of Dharmarth Trust held a protest demonstration in support of their demands. They warned the administration for going on ‘Chain Hunger Strike’ from December 28, 2020 if their demand of constitution of Board for all temples under Dharmarth Trust on pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board would not be fulfilled. They sought intervention of Lieutenant Governor for resolving their demands including enhancement of salaries.
Earlier, employees including priests from various units of trust including Shri Raghunath Mandir, Hari Bhawan Purmandal, Uttar Behani, Birpur and Central Office Karan Bhawan participated in the protest. “It is very unfortunate that the employees of Dharmarth Trust are forced into streets by rigid attitude of the management which has failed to address their genuine issues,” association members said. The protesters were also demanding revocation of suspension of five of their colleagues, including president of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association and General Secretary. Later, President Shiv Sena, Manish Sahni also joined the protest and extended support to the employees’ agitation.
Others present on the occasion included Surjeet Singh, Parshotam Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma, Rajinder Sharstri, Jagjeet Chand, Anil Sharma, Balwant Shatari, Harbans Shastari, Madan Sharma, Pt Jeeven Kumar, Kundan Lal, Subash Shastri, Rakesh Shastari, Rekha Devi, Bandana Devi, Sneha Handa, Vimal Khahuria, Bablu Kumar, Pt Ashwani Kumar, Sat Paul Pandit, Rajesh Kulkarni, Sagar Singh and Bhikham Singh.
