JAMMU: The District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu has demanded installation of a statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk, Jammu.
In a meeting of DGPC held under its President Jagjit Singh the participants resented the lackluster response of the government in taking up the project which has already been approved in principle and a sum of Rs 10 lakh also announced in public by the Speaker Kavinder Gupta from his CD Fund. Besides above the MoS PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh endorsing the demand assured to discuss the same with present Govt but the formal approval and commencement of work is still awaited.
Among those present in the meeting include H.S Raina, Kuldeep Singh, Mohinder Singh, Mohinder Singh II, Manmohan Singh, Jaspal Singh, Manjeet Singh, Manmeet Singh and Surinder Singh Wazir.
