DGP sanctions Rs.3.72 crore special welfare relief/welfare loan

JAMMU: Director General of Police (DGP) R.R. Swain has sanctioned Rs 2.20 crore as Special Welfare Relief in favour of dependents/legal heirs of 10 deceased police personnel. He has also sanctioned over Rs 1.51 crore welfare loans in favour of 119 serving police personnel to meet their immediate financial needs and Rs 2 lakh financial assistance in favour of Nok of two martyred Police officials.
The special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel SI Ab Hamid, ASI Sukh Dev Singh, HC Mohammad Yaseen, HC Ichpaul Sing, HC Mohd Sadeeq, HC kamal Kishore SgCt. Daya Kishan, SgCt Kuldeep Singh, Ct Bilal Ahmad and follower Altaf Hussain.
Out of this amount Rs 1 lakh each has already been paid to the families/NoK for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units/Districts.
Welfare loan of Rs 42 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 42 police personnel for self marriage. While Rs 1.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 63 police personnel to meet the expenses of the marriage of their sons/daughters. 11 police personnel have been provided welfare loan of Rs 1.5 lakh each for higher/professional education of their wards. Rs 1 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of one police personal for the technical education of his son. Rs 50000 each has been sanctioned in favour of two police personnel for circumcision/Akhandpath of his ward.
Besides, the DGP has also sanctioned R 1 lakh each in favour of Nok of martyr Ct. Mushtaq Ahmad & Ct Raj Kumar as financial assistance for marriage ceremonies of their daughters.
