DGP grants scholarship of over Rs 4 lakh to wards of police martyrs, serving personnel

JAMMU: Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid granted scholarship in favour of 55 students including 39 wards of police martyrs. The scholarship has been granted out of Central Police Education Fund and Central Police Welfare Fund for the academic year 2016-17.
The wards of martyrs who have been granted scholarship are Ashish Khajuria, Mohammad Faisal Bhat, Rahul Sharma, Isha Devi, Priyanka Bandral, Kamal Deep Singh, Rubal Davgotra, Vishal Koushal, Sapna Koushal, Simran, Aryan, Gourav Sharma, Danish Younus Lone, Sadia Rafiq, Sumaira Hassan, Wajid Manzoor, Abroo Javaid, Asra, Arzoo Adnan Ashraf, Aithsham Ashraf, Yawar Mukhtar, Humaira Tahir, Farhat Gulzar, Ifra Yaqoob, Shah Faisal,Yasir Nazir Hajam, Wasia Nazir, Mehroosa, Sayima Maqbool, Afreen Reyaz, Simiran Jan, Arshika Altaf, Sheenam Altaf, Danish Altaf, Rahil Riyaz, Saiqa Riyaz and Bazila Jan. The total amount sanctioned in favour of these wards is Rs 2.90 lakh.
DGP has also sanctioned Special Reward of Rs 1.15 lakh in favour of sixteen wards of serving police personnel on successfully completing their graduation and post graduation with seventy per cent and above marks.
Out of the sixteen wards, who have completed their graduation in technical courses or academics are Manpreet Singh, Suhaib Nazir, Devbrat Proch, Jaskirat Kour, Shahid Gul, Sakib Jabar Bhat, Zahida Gul, Ambika Rajput, Manisha Sharma and Reva Rani. Other police wards who got scholarships for completing post graduation include Prikshit Jasrotia, Unjaman-ul-Islam, Niharika Slathia, Peer Shoib Shams Qureshi, Shivam Mahajan and Vikash Sumberia.
