JAMMU: The workers of Shiv Sena (AG) and Dogra Front under the leadership of its president Ashok Gupta held a protest against the imposition of the token system for registration of Amarnath pilgrims.
Gupta said that when the Yatris have been promised Tatkal bookings then why there is a waiting period of five days.
The meaning of Tatkal booking, he said, is immediate approval but in Jammu it means that the Yatris have to wait without any amenities which just shows that how unprepared is the City of Temples for the much awaited Amarnath Yatra. “The falling trend of the Shri Amarnath Yatra every year is due to the mismanagement, lack of amenities and more over the false promises made by the administration with the pilgrims,: he said. The waiting for five days at the registration counter is a great hassle for the Yatris as they were promised a Tatkal registration and immediate Darshan of the Shiv Lingum. He asked the administration to provide immediate registration slip to the pilgrims so that they don’t have to suffer and maximum number of people can pay obeisance to Lord Shiva.
Birbal, Nanku, Sushil, Rakesh, Vicky, Sonu, Krishna, Radha, Nikka, Rakesh Kumar and Abhishek were also present in the protest.
