DF&SS protests against shortage of electricity

 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (AG) under the leadership of Ashok Gupta held a protest in Jammu city against the shortage of electricity.
Gupta said that power cuts of 6 hours in Jammu City and 10 hours in the rural areas are making the people to suffer when the summer season has just initiated. “As the mercury has touched 45 degree Celsius in Jammu, electricity and water supply seems to have vanished into thin air,” said Gupta. He said that every year the people of Jammu are made to suffer during summers on account of power cuts and non-supply of drinking water. In these days, when the temperature soars, only electricity and drinking water are means of relief from scorching heat but unfortunately both these commodities have gone out of the reach of a common citizen. It is the duty of elected government to ensure that people are not made to suffer but in Jammu and Kashmir the government has least concerned for the people. The government has failed to keep its promise and the situation has gone from bad to worse. On one hand, the government does not ensure regular supply of electricity and drinking water, on the other it acts like dictator and immediately disconnect the connections if any consumer deposits tariff little late.
