DFP organises workshop on RTI Act

JAMMU: To acquaint, sensitise and mobilise the field officers of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Jammu and Kashmir Region, about various sections, clauses and provisions of Right to Information Act 2009 the Directorate of Field Publicity organised an orientation workshop in the conference hall of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Vikas Bhawan, here Bahu Plaza on Tuesday.
The workshop was presided over by Manohar Khajuria, Regional Director, IIMC, Jammu, where as Paramjeet Singh and Zaheer Abbas, Law Officers from State Information Commission, J and K were the special guests and also acted as resource persons.
The orientation workshop started with the welcome address by Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, DFP, Government of India, J and K Region.
In the workshop a number of doubts and queries raised by the participants were clarified by a team of experts headed by Manohar Khajuria.
Khajuria highlighted the importance of RTI Act 2009 and strongly advocated that this act has played a key role in mitigating the woes of common masses and DFP’s role stands elusive in spreading its information.
Besides Field Officers from J&K State some students of IIMC also attended this Orientation workshop which was a new experience for them.
