JAMMU: Deshmesh Hockey Club Nanak Nagar outplayed MBS Hockey Club Simbal by three goals to one in the final and lifted the trophy of 7th Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament 2023 organized by Kashmir Sikh Sangat under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir, which concluded at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, here on Sunday.
In the final match, Jasjot Singh from Deshmesh Hockey Club was declared as Man of the Match for his outstanding performance whereas Rajveer Singh from Deshmesh Hockey Club was declared as Man of the Tournament.
In the closing and prize distribution ceremony, Mahant Manjeet Singh was the Chief Guest and SSP Randhir Singh was the Guest of Honour.
Others present were Dr Dhanwant Singh (USA), Karamjit Singh President KSS, Tejwant Singh Reen, Tejpal Singh Mehta, Suraj Singh (General Secretary KSS), K.N Singh, Popinder Singh, Balbir Singh, Inderjit Singh, Surjit Singh Bali, Jaswant Singh, Paramjit Singh, Prof. Inder Singh and Ajinder Pal Singh.
Officials of Hockey J&K GS Bakshi (Tournament Director), Rajinder Singh (Former President Hockey India), Rajinder Koul (Senior Vice President Hockey J&K), Daljit Singh (Executive Member Hockey J&K), Ishan Sharma (Treasurer Hockey J&K) and Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi (General Secretary Hockey J&K) were also present.
Technical panel comprised of Joginder Singh, Jagjit Singh, Harmanan Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Nazarat Hussain, Sahil Kumar, Ravneet Singh and RP Sarna.
