SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner, Samba Mubarak Singh alongwith Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Anil Magotra visited various temporary shelter camps established for accommodating the families affected due to border firing.
He visited Temporary Shelter Camps at Nonath Ashram, Narsingh Dev Ji Temple, Panchayat Ghar Madoon, Chichi Mata Temple Complex, R R Resorts etc. and interacted with the families who had moved from their houses for temporary shelter in these camps.
He assured all possible assistance from the administration in the wake of extraordinary situation arisen due to firing across the border.
He also met Sarpanchs/Panchs and prominent persons during the visit and while appreciating their role in extending necessary help, urged them to provide helping hand to administration for providing shelter and other facilities to these families.
He also visited District Hospital Samba where seven injured persons were shifted from village Chilyari, out of whom six persons were shifted to Govt. Medical College Jammu for specialised treatment. The Deputy Commissioner immediately deputed General Manager, DIC- Satish Sharma and District Social Welfare Officer to GMC for facilitating the treatment of these critically injured persons. An amount of Rs.5,000 to each injured person was provided out of Red Cross for the treatment.
Two persons namely Shakuntla Devi – 55 Yrs and Polli Devi – 35 Yrs succumbed to their injuries and Deputy Commissioner assured the family of the ex-gratia relief.
The DC and SSP also visited various villages in border area ‘viz’ Chilyari, Ragal, Paloona, Mawa, Rajpura etc. and met the villagers and assured them of all possible assistance from the administration and police.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner – Inderjeet and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur – Sonu Pargal alongwith Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Vijaypur – S S Sambyal also visited various border villages and met people and established the Temporary Shelter Camps in Vijaypur Block.
The Deputy Commissioner also issued instructions to all revenue officers to closely monitor the situation and take immediate measures to ensure safety, security and required help to the villagers close to International Border.
