Deputy CM’s remark on Burhan’s death sparks protests

UDHAMPUR: Congress activists under the leadership of Senior Congress leader and State INTUC Secretary Sumeet Magotra held a protest at Dabbar Chowk, Udhampur on the controversial statement of Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh in which he declared the encounter of militant Burhan Wani with security forces, an accident. Congress activists burnt the effigy of Deputy CM Dr. Nirmal Singh and raised slogans against BJP and its leaders.

While addressing the Congress activists and general public, Magotra said that it is unfortunate that Dr. Singh has given such a controversial statement on the encounter of Burhan Wani who was not only a dreaded militant but also the area commander of Kashmir. He also said that the statement of Deputy CM definitely demoralises the moral of security forces and also the threat to the integration of nation.

Sumeet expressed that Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh is dancing on the tune of separatists to please the Mehbooba Mufti and her PDP team for their anti India agenda. Rajesh Gupta, Shivam Sharma, Suriender Manhas, Ganesh Sharma, Sham Bansal, Tirth Ram, Nazir Ahmed, Jeevan Sharma, Gafoor Mohd. And Roshit Singh were also present on the occasion.
BISHNAH: Congress activists under the leadership of Shashi Sharma Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee held a protest at Bishnah on the controversial statement issued by Dy CM Nirmal Singh.
They also burnt the effigy of Dy CM Nirmal Singh.
Gulshan Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Tilak Raj, Baisakhi Ram, Pritam Bhagat, Chaju Ram, Ram Pal Bhagat, Ranju, Raghbir Sharma and Ram Pal Sharma were also present.
KATHUA: Taking a serious note of the statement of Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh in which he discredited the Security Forces (SFs) and expressed sympathy towards militants, the Congress activists held a strong protest against the Coalition Government and BJP Govt in Centre.

The Congress activists including ex-President Municipal Community Naresh Sharma, Councillers Tarsem Chand and Karan Bhagat, Senior Cong leaders Tilak Raj Gupta, Pankaj Sharma, Ashwani Gupta, Balbir Singh Rishi, Kulbir Singh Pathania, Ganesh Dutt and Sandeep Singh burned the effigy of Nirmal Singh and said that Dy CM took a U turn to his earlier statement and repeated the words of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in which there is expression of sympathy with the killed militants. They said that such statement is given under pressure causing serious damage to the nation as well as the security forces.
The Congress leaders said that the BJP being coalition partner has totally failed in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and in Centre. They criticised that the BJP has no decisive policy on Kashmir thereby demoralising the security forces who sacrificed their lives for the cause of nation and its integrity. They claimed that the people of Jammu province who elected the BJP brigade are totally disappointed and said that the elected representatives have totally violated the election manifesto which fact will have proper effect during next elections.
