Deport Rohingyas, Bangladeshis or face wrath of Dogras: Harsh

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Describing the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis illegal settlement in Jammu as a grave threat to the cultural, historical and religious identity of Dogras, a strong contingent of Panther activists led by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister and other leaders staged a vigorous protest at Exhibition Ground, here on Thursday seeking their immediate deportation.
The enraged protestors raised slogans of ‘Rohingyas Quit Jammu’ and ‘Bangladeshis Go Back’ besides anti-government slogans.
Addressing the media, Harsh said that Rohingyas who were persecuted and forced to leave Myanmar because of their involvement in the criminal and terror related activities had been mysteriously allowed to enter Jammu directly all the way long from their native country under a deep rooted conspiracy.
He said that the State Government had admitted on the floor of the house that there were several thousands of Burmese and Bangladeshi immigrants who had been unlawfully settled in clusters along the outskirts of Jammu city and Samba and were being funded by several NGOs and Madrassas.
He revealed that the State Government had further confessed that 17 FIRs had been registered against 38 Rohingyas for various offences including illegal border crossing and were reportedly indulged in drug trafficking, flesh trade, child abductions, begging and other crimes. Dismayed over the State Government’s perfunctory response by announcing probe into their procurement of essential cards/ documents, he said that coalition should desist from befooling the people and besides taking stringent action against the erring officials it must facilitate immediate extradition of all the illicit settlers inhabiting Jammu who had been dubbed as ‘ticking time bomb’ by the security agencies.
He called upon intellectual forums, social organisations, nationalist forces, youth and student organisations to get united to launch a mass agitation against the soaring menace which otherwise would prove detrimental to the peace, tranquillity and harmony of Duggar land and her pristine glory.
Harsh accused the BJP for bartering away the revered aspirations of the people of Jammu region for mere crumbs of power and asserted that the political sin committed by the Saffron brigade would haunt it to decimation in its core constituency.
Among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Sham Gorkha, Nirmal Kishore, Udhayveer, Mohinder Singh, Neeraj Gupta, Shankar Singh Sanju, Capt. Narotam Singh (retd), Vishav Singh, Sansar Chand, Narinder Sharma and Rakesh Verma.
