SRINAGAR: Delegations of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) and Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) separately met with the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga here on Wednesday and apprised him of various issues pertaining to trade and industry with specific reference to problems being faced by the entrepreneurs in Kashmir region.
The delegation of KCCI apprised the minister regarding the ensuing Buyer-Seller meet being organised by the Chamber from 30th May 2015 to 1st June, 2015. They raised various issues pertaining to the overall economic development of the region.
A delegation of FCIK led by its President Mohammad Ashraf Mir called on the Minister and apprised him of specific issues pertaining to the development of industries in Kashmir in particular and the State in general.
The issues like Interest subsidy to the flood affected industrial units and tax holiday, New Industrial Policy 2015, purchase of material from SSI units of the State by the Central/Paramilitary departments, opening up of Reliance Depot in Kashmir, inventory of SAIL, implementation of Delayed Payment Act etc. were discussed in detail.
The minister gave patient hearing to the delegations and maintained that the Government is serious to deliver good governance and assured to address the demands on priority.
Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Syed Fazal Illahi, Mohd Yousuf, Hazi Mehraj Qureshi and Mohd Gowhar of FCI, Kashmir were also present on the occasion.
