Delegations call on JKPCC Chief

JAMMU: Various delegations on Tuesday called on President JKPCC, Ghulam Ahmed Mir at Party Headquarters, Shaheedi Chowk Jammu and submitted a charter of demands.
A delegation of Kashmiri Pandit migrants led by Hira Lal Pandita, Chairman PCC Migrant Cell met Mir and requested him to highlight the demands and plight of suffering Kashmiri Pandits in the ensuing session of J and K Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council through the Congress MLAs and MLCs respectfully.
The delegation highlighted their demands which include enhancement of monthly cash relief, employment package in toto pending since 2008, rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, implementation of Backward Classes certificates on priority basis, recruitment drive in Police Department, renovation of TRT in various camps and compensation of property loss for the last 28 years.
Another delegation of vocational instructors workshop attendants accountants cum computer operators working in ITIs call on PCC President and presented a charter of demands and requested him to take up their issues in the current Assembly session in a befitting manner.
A delegation of NHM and JKSACS employees met Mir and explained in detail their demands. They said the primary reason of their distress is lack of job security, meager wages, lack of social security and abject discrimination being faced by them at their workplaces.
In principle the NHM employees demand regularisation of their services in the Health and Medical Education Department on phased manner, immediate enhancement of their salaries to respective grades in regular service on the pattern of equal-pay-for-equal-work as recently announced by government of Delhi, immediate enrolment of all NHM employees under
Mir gave a patient hearing to the delegations and assured them that their genuine demands will be highlighted at appropriate levels. He said that Congress Party is very sensitive to the cause and polite of KP community and has always been up front in highlighting the demands of the community but at the same time.
Chief Spokesperson PCC Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries Vikram Malhotra, S.S Channi, Shah Nawaz Choudhary and Secretary Ajaz Ahmed Khan were also present.
